EARLY Fisher Model 500-B Receiver

EARLY Fisher Model 500-B Receiver

Any help in finding a Service Manual for the EARLY ---- serial numbers 10000 - 20000 ---- Fisher 500-B receiver?

Notes:
(i) As between the early and later versions of the 500-B, besides the relocation of the power tubes, different MPX module, and reconfiguration of the speaker terminal strips and connections, there were a few circuitry changes.

(ii) Apparently there were MANY more of the later version manufactured. The Service Manual for the later version, serial numbers 20001 to 29999, are readily available, but not what I need.

Thank you for any assistance.

have a look at the fisher executive vii 990 sm over at fisherconsoles.com. while it's for an 800b it's for early serial numbers. the 800b only has am added to the 500b, so the schematics/parts/circuits should be similar (assuming they're the same as the later models as comparable with each other). the 500b was never put into a console that i know of; the above sm is for serials 10000-19999 inclusive.

oh, and while the top view shows the tubes behind the output txs mine is in that serial number range and they're in front of them (towards the front). i used that sm to fix up my 800b and it's a daily driver.

Thank you, madwing.

Per your help, I downloaded the Service Manual to the Fisher Exec. VII 990. I will have to go over it carefully, but I see immediately that the receiver power tubes are positioned in front (towards the faceplate) of the transformers.

Of course I was aware that there were "EARLY" and "LATER" topography and circuitry differences on the Model 500-B; I was not aware that there was as well an EARLY and LATER topography etc. on the Model 800-B. I have never seen an EARLY 800-B; live and learn!

Thank you for your assistance.

as i said, the receiver tubes' position isn't the same through the run of the 10000-19999 series...even though the circuits seem to be. i don't know how either of these (tubes in front or tubes in back, 10000-19999) would differ from the 20000-29999 series.
