They look a lot like Harman Kardon A-224 and T-224 but for the red pilot lamps on the top/center of each. Those could have been prop-added though. What is weird about that shot is how shallow the shelves look; it makes me wonder if the whole rig was a prop. The record changer looks vaguely Voice of Music-ish.

If you liked that movie, check out the original novel. O'Hara set it in the 30s (when he wrote it) and you can tell he was very much into popular music. Lots of references to the songs of the day, most of which have faded into obscurity.

Of course the novel lacks the most appealing aspect of the film. In 1960 Liz Taylor was about the sexiest thing on wheels.

It looks like it is the lmi 32215/lmi 32230 preamp, tuner combination.

Some day someone is going to ask a question on this forum and no one will have the answer. I'm not going to hold my breath until then though.:thmbsp::D

Some better pictures...

The matching amplifier for that setup before anyone asks would be this.

Derekva, I agree, although she was attractive, there were a lot more out there that I thought were better looking!

:yes::yes::yes:

She was very hot :banana:

Not sure about you guys who disagree :scratch2:

I can turn an amp on quicker than I can a woman, though I reckon I could turn her off as quick - or more quickly than an amp.

In any event, nice thread. Good to see the Borg-like collective AK knowledge in action.

Resistance is futile!

We can always hope to meet a pretty girl who is also into tube audio... :D

I shall bite my tounge with a setup line like that.......

How quickly the mind rolls off (like the bass curve graphs of an EQ) to the gutter when one is slightly tired.:yes:
