Eico 2536 PCBs

Hi all,
I have just acquired an Eico 2536 unbuilt stereo receiver kit, and it appears that just 2 parts are missing, but quite important ones: the IF strip and multiplex decoder PCB's. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these, whether with or without components on them? I would really like to build the kit, or else have the best possible value of it if left unbuilt. Thanks, Dave D.

Not sure where you would find those parts but you could try the Yahoo! EICO Group. Even if you don't find those parts, I think you have the makings of a very fine integrated amp or power amp there; I believe those OPTs are the same as used on the early HF81 and, being as it is for the extra load of a receiver, the PT is beefier than the one in the HF81.

Nice find! :thmbsp:

If you can find someone willing to take really hi-res pictures of the relevant boards (from another of the same model receiver), from the side with the circuit traces on it, these can be taken into a photo editing program, and converted into masks for photo-etching, to MAKE new boards. I think BrassTeacher has done this... maybe some other people here as well.

Mind you, this is a rather labor-intensive procedure... but it HAS been done... and can work, given enough determination and skill...

Regards,
Gordon.

I have the receiver, but I am a camera dunce. I bought a digital camera and eventually gave it to my grand daughter.
The output power section of the this Eico is similar to the 81, but as a previous post indicated the power trannie of the 2536 is much larger. A usual criticism of the 81 is that it runs too hot.
