Eico 377 question

I have a buddy who has an Eico 377 audio generator he wants to use on stereo tape recorder work, along with his scope. Does he have to do this one channel at the time, or can he make up a Y adapter arrangement and feed both tape recorder inputs with the same signal at the same time? Or will they interact and be a problem? Thanks.

Looks like this question turned out to be a flop. I'd have like to have know that. I like the old gear. Might have bought one myself.

Depends on the input impedance of the tape recorder and the output of the 377. I have one, but honestly have no idea what it's output Z is. Basically if the output impedance is too high and/or the input impedance is too low it might load the thing down enough that you won't get enough signal to do what needs to be done. So long as it makes enough signal though I don't see a problem using a Y adapter.

I just completed a re-cap on one of these. Also replaced a bunch of over tolerance resistors. Now working great. During calibration you set output to 10 volts into 1000 ohm’s so I don’t think it would have any problem driving both channels
