Hello everyone, I read on Tronola blog that eico st-84 phono stage is not that good as one that hf-85 has ,st-84 has ceramic cap in place of good quality cap, would just installing better cap improve phono stage?Any opinions will be greatly appreciated ,also maybe discussion on tube preamps and tube phono stages thanks again

St-84 phono mod

Hello again,I have question if anyone executed Tronola phono modification to eico st-84 changing resistors to 51k and caps to 0.1 uf and what kind of improvement in sound it made,is it better or close to hf-85 phono stage, also I connected my Cambridge 640 to aux of st-84 but i am not getting any signal out what could be the problem thanks for any input

You could also try FM-AM MX-Aux or Tape-Aux, If those are not working, check the tape mon switch for dirty contacts
I have a St-84 that I haven't had time to work on yet,in the que .
