Elac 10H running a bit fast

I've picked up a beautiful Elac 10H which I absolutely love but it seems to be running a hair fast. 30 seconds fast over a 20 minute side. (~2.5% fast) Are there any ways to fix this? Its just fast enough that I can hear the difference.

Any help much appreciated!

Injured my left pecking finger, this will be brief. You'll need sand/abraid down the offending step on your motor's capstan/pulley.
Do it a little at a time and keep rechecking the speed frequently. There is another resent thread where this was discussed at great length, forgot the title......
 
Yes, we discussed this a week ago. But the offending turntable was an offensive BSR. This ain't no BSR. Shouldn't be an issue on an Elac 10H. I have done a few, and these are wonderful turntables with a wonderful motor. I think that the idler needs to be looked at. If a bit hard, the speed might get faster [on any turntable]. A bit harder, and it will slow down until it stops.
 
Thanks for the replies! As a bit of a newbie to turntable mechanics I'm posting a photo of the idler wheel and surrounding bits to make sure I'm following along correctly.

Is the capstan the tiered cake Devo-hat looking thing? Looks like there is a faint bit of residue but not much. I'll be picking up some rubbing alcohol later tonight.

How can I tell if the Idler wheel has gone hard?
 
Firstly, run the motor and using a rag and Brasso or Noxon, polish the capstan [motor pulley].

Whip it!

Don't let it splatter on the rubber. I know that there is an innuendo in there, somewhere.
Then run the motor to spin the idler. Hold fine sand paper against the rubber and gently remove the dried-out film of rubber. Not the top layer of rubber!
Clean the idler with the alcohol. Get all brass polish off the pulley. Clean the inner platter surface, which is painted, if I recall.

Try playing a record.
