Elac Miracord 50H Mark II

Where is the best place to attach a grounding wire on the Elac Miracord 50H Mark II turntable?

Mine has a fairly decent hum that lessens when I touch a grounding wire to it but I can't seem to locate a good permanent place to affix the wire.

Thanks.

Scott, try removing the cartridge sled and cleaning the contacts. Push the cartridge handle back and the sled should pull right out.

There should not be a "lesser" hum. There should be no hum at all. Early Miracords do not have separate ground wires.

There are two places that need attention on Miracords. The first as @Hajidub suggests is in the head-shell contacts. Clean the contacts on the tone-arm and the sled with a pencil erasure. The other location is the RCA cable ends. Get in there with a green scotch pad to clear out the black residue.
