Hi all,
I'm a new member, but have viewed tons of info on this site for a long time. I'm a big fan! Anyhow looking for some advice. There is a nice looking (black plinth) Elac miracord 750iii for sale for $300.00 Canadian dollars with no cartridge. It's in pristine condition. First question- is this a reasonable price for this unit?
Second question- what cartridge would work best?
I'm not panning on using it as a stacker, single play only.

It sounds a bit much, but I don't know the Canadian market. It would need to be in mint working condition at that price. I bought mine for more like 50 UKP here. It is a good sounding table and the auto functions are useful.

The main thing to check is that the headshell and the clip that holds the cartridge are in good working condition. Sorry to be a bit vague in describing this, because mine is in storage elsewhere at the moment.

I like a Shure M75 or M95 with most tables.

Thanks for the info, I'll put it on the back burner until I get more info. There's a couple of duals that I'm interested in as well. Any opinions on idler drive vs belt drive duals.
