(Phone number removed by me....) Seller also has some DQ-10's, but he wants $450.00, kinda steep I think.

I'd fricking love to have a pair of Aristocrat cabinets... even if they have Jensen drivers in them. Probably way too late, though...

Psst hey...they are back on CL. Though Worcester's. In Oxford this year.

No affiliation. Just trying to avoid a purchase...

I'd love to have those cabinets. I have a pair of EV Royal cabs, much larger than these but same folded horn design ( by Paul Klipsch, I believe). They need new veneer. I might go blonde this time...anyone know what that is? Maple or birch maybe?

Hey Mark, you've got another shot at these. And a discounted price. It pay's to be patient!

Latest ad says "could call them a clone of them", implying that they are not EV factory cabinets. If the cabinet is simple on the EV Aristocrat, it may not matter. If the Aristocrat is a complex folded horn, the clones may not match their performance. I bet someone on AK would know about the EV Aristocrat cabinet. They certainly look appealing...

I was also curious about the "could call them a clone of them" statement. It's my understanding that the Aristocrats were available in factory build and kit form, so that could be part of the explanation. My Aristocrats are not that complex and are factory builds. These appear to have the risers and removable sliding front grills as mine have. Not familiar with the Jensen drivers but it would be difficult to build cabs for that price. They do need corners though for bass reinforcement.

edit: The baffle cutout locations look identical to mine.

Wow.
Almost 12 years later and priced 2/3 less. That's rather uncommon for highly regarded pieces of gear. Guessing it's a different seller?
Seems like many desirable pieces of gear have actually increased in that amount of time.
Or aren't these all that special?

For me the blonde finish would be a negative factor, but at this price and their apparent condition, I would make an exception. Looks like a pair of those Jensen DL220's drivers recently sold for close to the price of these complete speakers. Maybe the larger(they aren't that large) footprint is a factor or it could be the Boston vintage speaker market is really competitive. Interesting span of time and dollars between the 2 listings for sure.

That retro blonde finish is dated, but the condition has the impact for me. I'm amazed they're still available, even with so-so drivers. $140 these days is nothing. If I wasn't 1,400 miles away, they'd be in my house, and my wife would be chasing me with a cast iron skillet.
