Electro-Voice Georgian 400's -- MINE!

I had the pleasure of meeting tubino at spkrmans and seeing these beauties.

They really ARE gorgeous. Unfortunately the butcher of Toledo ;) had already done the dastardly deed and spkrman had not yet gotten started, but I'm looking forward to hearing them when complete.

There would be more work on the Georgian 400 clones if I were not tied up with tim614 and his RH84 tube amp project.

I've had to remember things I forgot years ago and it has taken too much attention away from my speaker projects.

I have a game plan in mind for the Georgian 400s that will be put in action soon I hope and then I can tweak the components and drivers to the sound I want.

300B SET amps will drive them!

I have had my pair since October/November. I also had a chance to side by side them with Altec 19's, Klipsch Belles and Cornwalls and some other stuff laying around. They are by far the better of all the speakers I have had in the recent past. I am pretty sure mine are from before 1962. They were paired with a Dyna 70 and the preamp was gone, but it was as memory serves a McIntosh C-22.

I have the original catalogs and all the build info for them too. I think when i die they may put me out to sea in them with a funeral pyre.

Also would like to know if yours have the 18WK or 15WK woofers in them.

The ones I have are made for the 18" and seem to be the only pair known to anyone so far!

One pic shows a crossover mounted on the side of the back, and the other pic shows the crossover mounted on the center of the back.

Mine have the crossovers on the side of the back piece.

Are my eyes mistaken?
