Electro-Voice Regency Stereo Floor Standing Speakers

Howdy mates -- I've been offered a pair of 1972 Electro-Voice Regency Floor Standing Speakers for $250. Problem is owner, who lives 150 miles away, doesn't know what's inside them. Won't open them to find out. And hifilit doesn't mention EV Floor Standing Speakers at all. I'm stumped. Does anyone know if the components are the same as inside the regular Regency model? Well, there's several possibilities ranging from a single driver, to a complete 3 way system. Those cabs were sold for kit installs too, so there's a myriad varieties. Plus there's no guarantee that there are EVs inside. Could be Altecs, JBLs, Trusonics, Utahs, Universitys; you name it.

Can he shine a light onto the fabric and see if there are 3 openings and drivers in all? 3 ways with EV and the like would be sweet

Thanks Andyman! :tresbon: That's a great idea. Might shed a little light on what's inside. Like you say, there might be a pleasant surpreeze.
 
Is there a Regency that isn't floor standing? The one I had years ago was about 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep -- I wouldn't want to put it on a shelf. Wonderful speaker.
