Electro-Voice SP12C coil resistance very high...

Question for the speaker experts - I just got a pair of Electro-Voice speakers (look like Esquires but with SP12Cs), but one SP12C is not producing sound and is testing at ~40 ohm coil resistance. The other seems correct at ~5.9R. I'm guessing that's bad ;) Is this cheaply repairable or should I plan to simply replace the whole driver? :headscrat
