Electrohome Apollo 860 Speaker replacements

Hi everyone,

I need some assistance with finding replacement speakers for Electrohome Apollo 860. I've had this turntable for about 3 years now but haven't found the time to fix it. The turntable works fine, I think. The problem is with the speakers.

I've 2 pairs of orbs, i.e. 4 of the ball-shaped speakers. I'm going to wire the 4 speakers parallel in groups of 2. (2 speakers on each RCA port).

All the internal speakers are damaged. The cones have almost fully disintegrated. I'm now looking for new speakers but it is too confusing.

I know the speakers are 4". From the service manual I've found online for this model, I'm getting this part number for the speakers: 3Q-400003-10. Other than that, I can't find any information on this part number.

Questions:
1) Should I be looking for full-range or mid-range speakers?
2) What ohm? Electrohome says 8ohm. And if I'm hooking the speakers up parrallel, I believe I'm okay with 8ohm.
3) What Watt?
4) What Volts?
5) Can you recommend me places to purchase suitable speakers (in USA)?
6) Where can I find speaker wires to RCA Male wires?

Speaker wires from any cheap speakers from the 70's or 80's that came with a cheap stereo or even cut the ends off a set of old or cheap phono wires reasonably close to the plugs and soldier the wires on to the existing plugs. The $ Dollar Stores have these. For the speakers try www.loudspeakers.ca or do a internet search on full range 4 inch replacement speakers. Can be a cheap as 75 cents Canadian each.

Thread from the past. Nice to find. I was not sure about full range or mid range either. Like he said... no real info on the speakers. Mine is in a seemingly rare colour of orange. (I r emoved the dents from the speaker cover).

I have just successfully replaced the originals with Dayton PC105-8. its a drop in except for cutting the holes into slots at the corners.
good sound, 8 ohm, seems very compatible with volume level SPL and is probably better than original. Bass a little weak but it probably is as good or better than original.
took a lot of hunting to find something that dropped in at a reasonable cost, the shipping was killing me on cheaper speakers.

Hi… one speaker has bad “clicking/distortion” particular when bass is increased. Not the port on the turntable, I can swap speakers and its speaker specific. I used different wires and resoldered the speaker contacts on the speaker it self… didn’t make a difference. So assuming it’s the speaker itself. I have 0% knowledge about speakers… for a 860 electromehome u said Dayton pc105-8 : where did u order them from and do they just drop into the orb and fix with a screw in the back?
