Electronic Ultrasonic insect repellers. Do they actually work?

My wife has seen a couple of roaches in the house and she's on me to do something about it, so today I'm down at Home Depot buying some bug spray when I came across an electroinic insect repeller ($29) that claims to repell mice, spiders, roaches and other pests but not harm pets cats, fish, etc.

Like this

According to the manufacturer, the box emits a sub-audible high frequency noise that varries constantly, so it drives the poor insects crazy and they leave to infest your neighbors house.

Has anyone used one of these things? Do they work? What about pets? Cats and Dogs?

Any advice or info appreciated. :thmbsp:

I tried them a few years ago for spiders and ants ..... they didn't work at all.
Sprinkle some borex acid power with a little sugar mixed in were you seen them , this will kill them at the nest .
There is a product that comes in a yellow bottle it is called Roach Proof. This works well.
