EMF Speakers?

I picked these up with a Pioneer SX-650 and A Kenwood KX-650. They only say EMF speaker co. They have a 10" woofer and a 10" passive radiator and a tweeter. Look pretty generic but have good heft. They need refoaming and I'm wondering if they are worth the trouble. Any comments are appreciated

Is that a grill on the top? There seems to be a black cloth section. In terms of refoaming -- you have the speakers so its not going to cost a whole lot to get them up and running if you do it yourself, and then you'll be able to judge how good they are.
But: I tend to think that two way speakers with a largish woofer crossing over to a smallish tweeter tend to be a little heavy sounding, so its possible that unless there are more drivers on the top that it might not be the most accurate and transparent speaker ever.

That woofer looks like a phillips from the mid 80's. If you like the cabinets why not change the tweeter to somthing more modern, and be able to cross it lower? You might come up with something pretty good. Maybe one of the 2" mid/tweets out there. Also, is there a tweeter on top of the cab. under that cloth? BTW it almost looks like a BIC.
