EMIT ferrofluid replacement?

I just picked up a pair of Qa Infinity. Reading on Hifiengine, it says they are liquid cooled. Has anyone ever replaced the ferrofluid in EMITs? I thought the fluid was used in voice coil gaps, but the EMIT has no voice coil, correct? Can someone please help me understand this?

Hi Fuzzbuster,

None of the five different sets I've personally worked on have any fluid in or around the EMIT drivers. I honestly think it is a misprint. If you look at the flyer it is not mentioned once and it seems like a detail that woudn't be missed in the advertisement of the speakers. There is also good information about the drivers in that flyer.

Good luck,

Mark K.

I thought as much. No voice coil + no gap = no fluid.
