Empire 2000z

TB I really hope that you can bring your cartridges back to life. It’s a great one would hate to see one bite the dust. I have one but it’s missing the stylus. I hate to ask this but if you can’t fix it would you be willing to sell me the stylus if it’s the one that came with it. You can PM me if you do. I’m rooting for you to get the cartridge to work again.

I actually have at least 2 styli for the cartridge and maybe 3. I do not think any are the original but I could be wrong. I will check when I get back to Canada 1 May. I bought several back about 10 years ago from a place in Canada called Canadian Astatic. In my opinion the replacements were every bit as good as the original. That was my primary cartridge up to a week or so ago.

I was wandering how you made out with your cartridge. Hopefully you got it working again. I would hate to see one of them bite the dust. Did you have a chance to look to see if you had the stylus you mentioned in your post? I would be interested in buying one. You can PM to let me know.
Thank you

Hey Tazman I am still in AZ until the beginning of May. Will check into it when I get back. In the meantime I am looking for another 2000Z body at a decent price.

NO I did not get it working. The slightest amount of heat melted the pin into the cartridge. I did however pick up a new 2000Z body about 3 months ago and just found 11 new S2000Z styli just waiting for them to be delivered. So I am set for life lol.

Do you mind if I ask where did you get all those styli? I still have to find one but don’t want to spend a lot of money for it due to the fact that I’m not working. Any help would be appreciate
They no longer have any in stock. Out of th eeleven I bought only 3 were original Empire S2000Z styli.

I meant to get back to you to ask you if they were genuine Empire or the aftermarket ones. Typically, that vendor had well-made replacements. I bought an aftermarket one for my Pickering 625E and it's very good. Empires are more difficult, however.
