Empire Woofers

[ARRAY]

Some fellow has a set of Empire woofers from a Grenadier 7000 pair:

There was another AK'er in here who was looking for a set (these aren't mine) so lets' hope you see this post. I'd buy them myself if they were a slightly different model (8200 model).

I've got to say that I wonder about woofers that have been facing down for several decades. I would guess that the suspensions and spiders are pretty sagged.

Hi Nat, I wouldn't worry too much about that. In fact, it is preferable to have them sag that way versus sitting face up.

Funny, I know a bass play who scarfs them up like pancakes.
He has two 4 x 12" cabs.....all Empire woofers.
Powers both of them up with a home-brew tube amp that looks like it came from the original 1930's Frankenstein Movie!!
Can't move the volume knob past "3"....without permanent hearing loss?
I weigh 195 pounds...and can't budge it an inch!?
Takes 4 men to carry the amp and the cabs to a gig!!
NO ONE sitting close to the stage leaves in one piece.
I'm glad to see those old Empire woofers being used to play live music.
