Endless Rube Goldberg Machine

[tybrad]

We will build it and (the infamous) 'they' will come. Simple. Each poster adds the next mechanical machination in the sequence.

For those who may not know what a Rube machine is, an example...

A bird poops onto a platform.

[tybrad]

Aww, c'mon!

[Ohighway]

.......which causes the platform to drop and raise a lever....

[ETLS]

Which flips on the vacuum cleaner

[old_tv_nut]

Scaring a chihuahua, which runs under the sofa

[Hyperion]

Tripping a switch that starts to boil a kettle.

[Shominy]

The convection lifts small umbrellas.

[ETLS]

Which have strings attached to trap doors

[old_tv_nut]

Which open in the bottom of a cage containing three blind mice.

[tybrad]

The mice find cheese on a seesaw.

[toxcrusadr]

Knocking over a shot glass of marbles perched on the other end of the seesaw.

[old_tv_nut]

The marbles are catapulted onto a washboard.

[tybrad]

They rumble down and into a size sorter.

[old_tv_nut]

The noise wakes up a sleeping parrot, which flies down to investigate.

[Shominy]

The parrot flies over and hits a pan.

[bobsvinyl]

The pan makes a large "Bang" and wakes up an old man who falls out of his bed.

[old_tv_nut]

He jumps up and bumps the bedside table, knocking over a tall stack of paperbacks he's been meaning to read.

[Shominy]

The paperbacks fall on a fire and ignite.

[Rockyhill]

The fire ignites a nightstand containing ammunition. Bullets start flying in every direction.

[Shominy]

One bullet hits a bell
