Energy 10in subs: C10,V10,10

Seems like Energy could have thought up some different names. Search turns up lots of ESW-C10, a few ESW-V10, and almost no ESW-10 which looks like the only down firing version. They all look very much alike. Can anyone explain the other differences, such as changes in amplifiers, country of origin, years made, reliability? Any info would help.
