Hey all
I got my hands on some KLH 33s, got them all set up to find out i have one tweeter out. After alot of reading on this forum I see many people saying that these speakers are a great candidate for EPI Inverted Dome tweeters. I read that the EPIs are "literally a drop in" install for KLH 33s. However, after some online searching, the inverted domes seem to be a totally different shape to me. The stock tweeters have a square bracket, while the EPIs are round.
So...my questions...
1. From people who have heard one setup or the other...should I buy a set of EPI inverted domes for sound quality or should I buy a replacement KLH tweeter for cool vintageness?
2. Are there more than one model of EPI inverted dome tweeters? If so, which do I need?
3. Are these speakers really just a drop in, or am i going to need to drill some holes, drive some screws, etc?
Thanks for any help on this subject...I joyfully await the string of hyperlinks which will soon appear telling me that this topic has been discussed 10 times already.
