I got a pair of these from shopgoodwill.com When the showed up the woofer surrounds were shot, one tweeter was out, and the cabs were so moldy I couldn't bring them in the house.
I almost tossed them.
But instead I stripped the cabinets and hit them with bleach and water a couple of times and put them each in a big bag with baking soda rubbed into the wood. I repaired the tweeter. I got the woofers refoamed; my first attempt (I had no shims for the voice coil so i played a 50-60 hz tone through them to catch buzzing while gluing... worked pretty good).
Add a new cap and put them back together and I am absolutely in love. They sound good but that's not the amazing thing. If there were speakers with perfect soundstage, these are it. I can't imagine it any better. If you find a pair make sure you give them a listen.
