Epi m202 (202) vs DCM Time Frames

Hey all,

I was just curious if anyone had compared the DCM Time Frame series with the Epi Tower Types; specifically I have the m202's.

I have read the Time Frames excel in ethereal, large, and clear soundstage - immersing the room in sound.

I am looking for these features...how do the DCM's stack up against the dual module sound of the Epi's? I think the goal of the Epi's was similar?

I always looked at the 202s and the 150s as sort of the bastards of the original EPI line. Both are good, neither are outstanding. The 100s are better than the 150s and the 201s simply knock the 202s out of the park. The effect that you described above: 'ethereal, large, and clear soundstage - immersing the room in sound.'..........this perfectly describes the EPI 201s. This effect to this day just amazes me. The dimensionality of the 201s is just stunning. It sounds at times that there are speakers behind you. I doubt very much if you will get this effect from the DCMs and I never experienced it with the 202s.

While I have both brands .I do not have EPI Towers. I have EPI 100V book enders w/ the concave tweeter and the gold rings that people yap so much about. For a bookie they are great and put my JBL 2060s to shame.
Now about the DCM Time Frame series. I have the TF 350s and think they are great for that wacky shape they come in. Bass is good as are the highs. My only regret was not jumping on a set of TF 600s which most here say is the sweet spot of the series and must be heard. Be aware the TF are a mother to work on and if the foam is gone on the driver you'd better know what your in for. The same for the socks, they tend to fade badly in the sun light and again are hard to affix correctly. The ones I got were already re socked and foamed for $145 off C/L...
