EPI tweeter Polarity question

EPI tweeter Polarity question... and 202 pics

Have about 8 old EPI masonite tweeters, all work fine, but only 3 are marked for polarity, and one of those is on the opisite side terminal!?!?! I'm using them to restore some old EPI 202's (Pics later). I've tryed the battery test, no go, not enough movement for me to tell. I'm tryed playing a 10 khz wave threw them and switching polarity, can sort of tell but its damn close. To get to the question, did EPI have all of the old tweeters have different terminal polarity assignments or did they stick with the left one positive, right one negative sort of logic. If that isn't the case any recomendations for testing would be great, i've got a couple ideas but, I want some other ideas just for the "duh" factor :thmbsp:

Honestly, those things were all over the map.

I've seen opposite polarity markings in the SAME pair of speakers. And I did verify... I was brave enough to use a 9-volt battery.

Ugh, I figured, I'll have to grab the 9 volt and see if I can get them to thump... grrr. Here's some pics by the way of the 202's (Yes no name plates, but I'm having some decent ones made locally, yes I know about human speakers, and thats a whole other can of worms to me.)

Maybe hook up a marked one, an unmarked one, and play a mono signal. If the image isn't centered, swap the polarity and check again.

The tweeters in my first set of EPI T/E 100s were opposite each other in polarity, and marked that way with stickers. On my second set they were both the same, and also marked that way. I think they just assembled them randomly, then after assembly tested and marked them. Must have been more efficient that way.
