Epic CF3 on stands

banging through drywall
I finally put my CF3s on stands. I used my Lovan Jazz 6in stands. They are slightly tilted back. This raises the centered tweeter to about 29 inches at the center. Because of the tilt and the fact that I sit about 15 feet from the speakers the tweeters are at just the right height.

Moray told me years ago to raise them. He was right, they sound much better. I'm just a little slow and they were not in use for a couple of years.
Anyway I'm glad I raised them. Any other CF3/4 owners should consider doing the same.

Also, I had been bi-amping them. I wasn't really satisfied with what I was hearing so I went back to my Bel Canto mono blocks. I'm really happy I didn't sell them they kick ass driving the CF3s.

One more thing. I use two subs with my CF3. Everyone should consider using two or more subs with their two channel systems. They really raise the bar in sound quality.

cubdog: good for you and thanks for not only raising up your CF3 but also for posting I know I pestered you a lot.

Getting you speakers up so that the the centre of the midrange driver is at your seated ear level is really critical be the speakers direct radiators or horns. It was PWK who said that "we live in the midrange" and he is right. I hope that you wlll become one more voice to help to understand the importance to having your speakers midrange at your listening (ear) level. Best regards Moray James.
