Epicure 20+ vs 3.0's

Hello, new to AK and not very computer literate. Trying to post on Speakers forum, but not sure if I'm doing this right.
Anyway, have a pair of Epicure 20+ speakers and a pair of Epicure 3.0's.
Recently re-foamed the 20+'s and they sound as great as I remember (have had since 1979). Thinking of rescuing the 3.0's from the closet also, but can't remember if they were THAT much better than the 20+'s to justify right now. The listening space is 16.5' wide x 35' long. Any advice from those who might be intimate with these models is appreciated.

they are better on my dad traded in his 20+ towards a set of the 3.0's when they came out. the 3.0's were epicures top of the line model. was probably their most expensive to build. I wouldn't trade my 3.0's for a pair of 20+. if you got a chance to restore them I would do it.

We had both in the store. Never really considered the 20+ but would be glad to have a pair of 3.0s show up for some serious exercise (of the speaker, I'll get help moving them into the house).

For that large room the double driver set up of the 20+ is probably an advantage filling the room but the 3.0s should set up a nice sound stage when properly positioned.

As you might have found out with a little searching, Huw Powell, owner of http://www.humanspeakers.com, is the best resource for help, parts, etc, for the Epicure speakers, including the 3.0's

I dream of owning a pair of 3.0's someday...

I have 3 pair of 20+ and one pair of 3.0. The 3.0 are better than the 20+ in my opinion. They are worth finishing. You'll be very pleased when you're done.
