Epicure Model 10 two way

Thrift finds that have been re-foamed. Tweets are sweet and pure. 8" cones sound great. Boxes 7/10, Grilles 7/10. Cant find many / any for sale out in the world so i wanted to see if anyone has an opinion or better yet, solid info as to what they would be worth today, refurbed.

Any help is appreciated.

Very dependent on your location. Here in Colorado, probably $100-$125 at best. I sold a pair of early EPI M110's recapped & refoamed (w/ the proper filleted foams) for $65 last year after being posted for months. Other parts of the country might bring more, seems like Colorado has some of the cheaper vintage speaker prices.

I have the Tens also, doing duty in the garage. I also can not find grills for them, mine are all original, they sound great. I would think they would sell in the 60$-80$ range if original and had grills.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. Might just hang on to them but i have waaaaaaay to much stuff as it is. This disease takes space . Hope all is well in Colorado.

There is absolutely a need for a recap, it's a 50 year old bipolar electrolytic in there. I've had several pairs of these. I know. Can't know what you don't hear!

It's a first order crossover with a single cap. Replace one, and compare.

In my area (Tennessee), someone has been trying to sell a pair of Model 10 for months. They are a newer version with the Epicure tweeters, and like the OP's speakers, have the wrong surrounds installed. They were initially asking $100 and now they want $85. If they had the correct foams installed, I would have already bought them.

I have been tempted to buy them, but I would have to refoam with the correct Boston-style foams and recap them. If they drop more, I might be interested, although I have 100 and 70 and 20+ already, not to mention a Genesis II.

The Model 10 is a fine speaker, but like colohiker says, they are not worth much more than $100 to $125 if in good shape. Where are you located? Prices often vary based on location.

I hear everyone on the recap issue and i appreciate the feedback. I will definitely replace, compare, and then do the other. I am in the North Chicagoland area. I have to admit these Model 10's sound mighty fine as they are but I would love to hear them at their best. Exactly what are the correct surrounds and where do i find them. Human Speakers?? Most sellers have the proper foam surrounds, but they are not sold as generic. Check out Simply Speakers, Springfield Speaker Repair, etc. Reputable sellers sell foam for specific speaker models.

The correct foams for EPI and Epicure speakers are the Boston-style or filleted or angled style. The part of the surround that glues to the cone has the same angle as the cone. This is contrasted to the flat style where both the inner and outer edges of the surround are flat and coplanar.

I did not realize there was a difference in the surround type and i ordered these from Simply Speakers. Originals were so far gone they were no help. Looking at the SS website now i see there are two options when i search for Model 10's surrounds FSK-8 nd FSK-828. Filleted are the 828's yes? is there a difference in performance? I am sure the angled inner surround makes it much easier to install. I would hate to remove surrounds that were just installed.
