ESM-3 or 4?

What would be the better deal, a pair of Energy ESM-4's, one with a different woofer (havent heard them yet, been told the difference is minimal), for 55AUD, or a pair of ESM-3's for 100AUD. Both pairs are in great condition besides the woofer difference in the 4's, and I can probably bargain each pair down by 10-20 dollars. Which is the better choice? Cheers.

ESM-3 is being sold by the same guy, not on gumtree however.

I would always go for the pair with original drivers. The ESM3's are great speakers!

Make sure you factor in whether the woofers have been re-foamed or not.
Now would be well past their useable life if the foam surrounds are original.

I'd recommend going for the 3's with original drivers. I refoamed a pair of ESM-1 for my neighbor a couple of months ago and listened to them for a couple of days until he picked them up - very listenable speakers, clean, efficient and with full tight bass, also mirror imaged like the 3's. Guessing the 3's are a bit smaller, but they should sound very similar which is very good:thmbsp:.

Bought 'em today, along with a few great LPs, they sound pretty swell
