Esotec Preamp phono section?

Does anybody know whether the Marantz Esotec series phono section is considered to be good? I have an Esotec SC-6, and just hooked a TT.

It sounds soooo good, my jaw dropped - however, I wonder if it is just because that particular phono section is good, or is it the difference between a TT v CD sound that blew me away? :scratch2:

The Esotec products were top flight. You'd have to spend some decent coin to outdo the phono stage in your preamp. Enjoy it.
 
I used to use a PM-4,with an Oracle TT,Garrott Decca cartridge and ProAc speakers.The phono stage in the PM-4 was very good. :yes: :thmbsp:
