Not sure what you mean by little speaker!

There are 6 drivers in each cabinet including a pair of 12" drivers.
 
At this time I still have no cash but the last time I contacted them they didn't seem to
portray to me they had any, humm!
 
I meant, considering the lack of number of drivers... arg... I can't phrase it right, but something like that.

They look larger than my Fortes.
 
Boy, this is an old thread, but I have to jump in here. I have a set of AMT 6s, and the top end is flat unbeatable. I re-coned the 12s to have a little better low-mid/ high-bass response and they are absolutely stunning.
 
Hey cool to see another owner! Your the only other one I've heard say they have some!

Yes I find no flaws in these speakers either really!
 
My only real complaint is the difficulty in getting them placed correctly. My living room looks like Picasso aranged the furniture. BTW, I saw a set sell on the bay a couple years ago. They went for nearly $800, in need of foam work and pick-up only in BFE, Canada.
 
Yes my placement is not the best either as the room there in is to small.

The best I've come up with is sitting slightly behind the speakers (but there out to the sides)
with the speakers pointing to the center of the wall in front of me, gives a very nice image. :D

Yah I've seen 1 or 2 pairs for sale since I've gotten mine. I wouldn't wanna have to ship them! :smoke:
 
Sorry to say it, but there not my main speakers and are in an upstairs Florida room
not used all that much powered by an 80wpc vintage technics receiver. :no:
(Still need to replace 2 of the tweeter diaphragms)

Eventually I'd like to get them downstairs and biamp them with tubes up top. :music:
My current main speakers are ADS L880's that I can't seem to be separated from! :music:

IMHO they are easily worth the $280. I would also fuse the diaphragms, as this will prevent overdriving them, or a clipping amp from melting them.
Definitely worth tweaking IMHO.
I'm sure they would provide some of the same challenges I ran into with my AMT3's-matching modern drivers (woofers/mid bass) to match the Heil.
The AMT3 originally used a higher pleat driver then the rest of the series, and this may also in part account for it sounding better then the other models, along with the 3-way design.
As they don't make those diaphragms anymore (high pleat) -another reason to keep them fused.
My PS1220's from the 80's-great speakers-but I went through my share of diaphragms-roommate/parties/etc ($18-$20 each back then + shipping).The ESS circuit breaker didn't help-but the fuse will-no problems after that.

Yah I did. The way I have them setup in the room there in (a lot of placement tryouts)
is I sit behind them and they fire angled to a point in front of me with the hot tweeter
inside and the other 2 outside. I have them setup as no tweeter,hot tweeter,tweeter,
tweeter. They are also mirror image so you could put them on either side then all of the
tweeters will be inside out or the other way would be outside in but either way you do
it they will be identical on either side so you can have many different placement options.
The tweeters do have an adjustment on back at -3,0 and +3 I have them set at 0
with plenty of high end, nice mid and solid low notes.

Yes I got them for a very nice price from a thrift store. The cabs are in decent shape,
all the woofers are nice including surrounds, each has 1 bad tweeter and most of the
grill is shot on both, which I'd like to redo with something a little more modern looking.

I am still not sure if I can keep these things as my house is full/don't have "good" place
for them to truly breath. But will see! If I was to sell them I would not want to have to
ship these mothers!

I know this is a really old thread, but I picked up a pair of these a year ago. they came without grills. was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the grills (inside of them preferably)
