ESS HD1000 Vintage Speaker Replacements

I have an set of ESS HD1000 and I am looking to replace the 10 inch woofers. Does anyone know or have recommendations on ESS replacements or another manufacture that would fit?

What's wrong with the existing woofers? These speakers aren't worth much, so investing money to purchase new woofers will generally cost more than their total value.

Woofers have been both repaired incorrectly and sound like they are distorted. When I push a finger on the woofer it sound amazing. They have a real good sound.Thanks!
 
Not sure if they’re a stamped frame woofer but if they are, you can try loosening the mounting screws slightly. If they were repaired, it’s possible that they were overtightened when installed and the voice coil is rubbing because of a flexing frame. Just an idea.
 
If the repair was just a refoam, you can carefully cut off the foam and redo it properly. When you push the woofer in with the amp turned off, can you hear any sort of scraping sound?
