ESS Monitors- cloth Surrounds- AR sealant

Good day all,

to those that have experience with ESS monitors with the original Doped cloth surrounds, has anyone tried the AR sealant to rejuvenate The cloth surrounds?

My Monitors are the 2 way design with the foam passive radiator.
my cloth surrounds are in Pretty good shape- no cracks or tears.

just curious if anyone has tried the AR sealant?

Hi all,

I wanted to update this thread for other ESS speaker owners with woofers that have cloth surrounds. The Cloth Surrounds on mine were in great shape, no cracks or tears. But, a hint firm due to age.

I did use the AR sealant on the front of the cloth surrounds of my ESS woofers about a month ago. Since then and with time playing music through them, The bass response has improved alot- deeper, tighter and fuller than before.

YMMV, but the AR Sealant made a big difference on my ESS woofers
 
We replaced the very stiff cloth surrounds on our monitors (both drivers and passives) with foam and are very happy with the result.
