I have had a pair of ESS 7 which recently got connected to my Sansui QRX 5500 and the sound just amazed me. Got me interested in ESS speakers in general which has led me to Heil's of course. Now I find myself reading every thread on ESS and Air Motion Transformers that has ever been published.
Now, with a little snooping, I found a pair of ESS Nine's, which are on their way to me. Also have procured the Heils and crossovers from a LS-5 system at a reasonable cost.
Would it be possible to transplant the Heil tweets into the Nine boxes? I'm sure there would be some integration problems to be solved but should make great 3 way ESS. Any other upgrade suggestions beyond recapping the crossovers?
