Estate find

While checking out the garage stuff at a estate sale yesterday noticed two large speaker sized boxes under a pile of old tarps. Uncovered a set of Sansui SP-3000 speakers in their original boxes. One is almost perfect condition other has a scratch down one side and a small chip out of the grille. Both have DL # engraved in them but very small and hard to see.People running sale had no idea they were there, one guy tries to call his son who is in Ga. for a price. I call my wife who is waiting in the car and explain I might be a while and why. She says didn't you see the receiver by the door as we came in . Nope I was checking out all the camera gear other side of room.Sansui 2000A receiver , same excellent condition , $45.00. I get a sold sticker from the lady actually running the sale and explain what is going on with the speakers. She says he , guy calling his son , always wastes time when he should just be pricing things. Sells me speakers for $40.00 for the pair. It was a Very good day to hit the estate sales !! Oh at another sale I got to see me in 35 years , 90 year old guy selling his albums to heavy for him to move the boxes now.He only had 3500 left after the third day of his sale. All kind of albums from unopened to trashed.

Nice find. If/When you eventually do a recap, replace all the 2sc458's on the tone board and AMP with 2sc2240's. The 458's have a tendency to be noisy and the 2240's are very quiet.

How do you like the speakers? I see you have Klipsch to compare with.
I know my SP-3000 worked very well with my 5000A.
