EV Esquire 200? setup help

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone will be able to offer some advice on hooking up these EV Esquire 200s. I'm not sure of the model, but from pics I've seen that's my best guess. All I know is black and red and Left and Right. As you can see by the pics, this is way out of my comfort zone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The diagram is pretty clear. The straps are in the right spot, just connect the amp's negative wire to the terminal with the arrow marked "COM" and the positive wire to the terminal with the arrow marked "8 ohm."
 
Yup, there should be straps (jumpers) as you have them. Your amp's hot wire (+) goes to the terminal marked "8 ohm" with the big arrow at the "top" of your (sideways) photo, and the amp's "-" goes to the other one, marked "COM(mon)".

The photo is actually not sideways - the panel is installed that way on the back of the speakers for some reason.

Just one more question - what if one of the speakers is missing the jumpers? The one I used for the photos has them, but the other does not.
 
Sorry, I should've known that! :-p

Oops, if you're missing one jumper, you'll have to add one. Just need a little piece of wire between the two terminals; copy the other speaker's layout. Sorry, I missed that, too! That's what happens when I am trying to work and goof around on AK!

Finally, FYI in case you didn't know, here's the EV manual for the Esquire 200A:

The earlier Esquires used the very nice little EV Wolverine LS-8 AlNiCo twincone driver as a midrange (with an EV T-35B horn tweeter and an EV 12BW woofer); later ones used a smaller cone MR in an 8" closed basket. The early ones, at least, are surprisingly nice sounding and sensitive loudspeakers; "great for tube amps"!

EDIT: Here's a photo of the earlier Esquire configuration. Anyone who spends a little time on a certain, modestly-popular on-line auction site will recognize the carpeting, and thus the seller, responsible for this photo I 'borrowed' a long, long time ago :-)
