Electro-Voice FR12-2 Comments & Comparisons Wanted

I am going to pick up a pair of Electro-Voice FR12-2's on Thursday and was wondering what they sound like compared to other horn loaded speakers such as a Klipsch Heresy for example. I have read the threads that have been posted and the owners do say the sound is great, compared to what is what I am wondering. The speakers have been stored for years and are said to be in near mint condition, price is $150. I have read old threads that said that was a good deal five or so years ago so I think I will take a chance on grabbing them. I am looking forward to all comments and suggestions.

I need a bit of help here so I bumped it up a notch. I would think that someone has an idea of what they sound like compared to a Heresy. I apologize if I violated the posting rules.

see if you can figure this out. the heresy is not known for having much bass.

this data sheet on the EV suggests it drops off around 80 hz, if i am reading it right??

Thanks for the reply. I did see that, but graphs and specs do not always indicate what speakers actually sound like when compared side by side in person. I am just looking for some type of reference to another good speaker.

I put the EV's on hold since I am going to look at a couple of Pioneer SX-1280's in the morning. If I do not get the 1280's then I will contact him in the afternoon for pickup, if he still has them. I will post an update tomorrow.
