EV Sentry III speaker Questions

Hello,

Questions regarding EV Sentry III speaker.

What is the total internal cubic footage? (Including space behind mid-range horn) I believe there is a hole connecting the lower woofer cabinet with the upper mid-range horn section.

What are the dimensions Height, width, depth of the vent ports 1 & 2.
Port 1 the upper.
Port 2 the lower.

Is the 815-9062 woofer magnet assembly basket only used for to the EV Sentry III speaker?

Is the 815-9062 woofer recone kit 89947XX interchangeable in a different EV magnet assembly basket? (To create a 815-9062 woofer.)

The lower part of the Sentry III cab is isolated from the upper horn sectioin (no tube). There's a port on the front of the lower cab that can be covered with a port cover that is attached to the bottom of the speaker IF you have the SEQ eq box, with that port cover in place it lowers the bass response lower limit down to 28Hz.

Cab specs are there but it doesn't specifically confirm the lower bass part of the cab.

Not sure where you got the idea there is a "port 1 the upper"?? No upper port on mine. The big horn is isolated from the bass bin.

EV is pro gear, they got it down and have had it down for MANY years of pro audio, just sayin...

Sentry IIIs were a test for home use but were used for theater sound which is where my pair came from.

Hello Bob,
Does your speaker look like picture below. If it is, there is a divider that divides the lower port from the upper port. To use the speaker in step down mode with SEQ eq box the lower port is covered which lowers low frequency from 40 hertz to 28 hertz. Upper port remains uncovered in step down mode.
If you do not have a divider in the port, post some pictures of what yours look like.. (You mite have a custom made cabinet) More below image:

The two photos below are rear images of a EV Sentry III cabinet with the crossover panel removed showing two openings cut into top of the lower woofer cabinet. The space behind the midrange horn is a continuation of the woofer cabinet and should be included in total cubic footage for ideal cabinet volume for the specially designed 815-9062 woofer.
Also check out attached thumbnail image it clearly shows two openings cut into top of the lower woofer cabinet.

Mine look exactly like your pics. I stand corrected on the vent to the lower cab, I didn't remember it being there when I recaped mine a few years ago. I have the lower port covered on the front and use a SEQ box. I swapped out my SEQ box for a NOS (really NOS I had to cut the packing tape) interface D box which actually works with regard to bass adjustment. My SEQ box probably needs re-cap/new resistors.
