Ever Have This Happen?

I received two jazz albums from my son for Christmas. One of them was just fine. The other one turned out to be a bit strange. The album given to me was;

Street of Dreams
By Grant Green
Blue Note BLP 4253/84253

The record that was actually in the sleeve was;

Black Fire
By Andrew Hill
Blue Note BST 84151

To my recollection, I've never had this happen before. He bought them both from Amazon. He contacted Amazon and they sent return shipping.

Anyone else ever have something like this happen?

Update! My son contacted Amazon and they emailed a return shipper to him and sent another copy of the album which got here today.

One problem - it's exactly the same as the first one. A sealed sleeve of Grant Green's Street of Dreams containing Black Fire by Andrew Hill.

He's returning both copies and getting a refund. Nice work, Blue Note!

Actually I have had this happen several different times but with small record vendors. The first time it was just a one off packaging mistake, I had the vendor open and check the second LP before sending it out to me. The other time they checked their stock and found every copy they had was wrong (two record set with two copies of the same LP) That one took a while to get straightened out but I did get a free MoFi T Shirt for my trouble.

I would not be surprised if an entire batch is packaged wrong. Did you throw on the Black Fire to see if the pressing and label matched.

I did check to make sure the label wasn't just wrong. It wasn't. I assume the disk was Black Fire but I know for certain it wasn't Grant Green. I sent an email to Blue Note - thought they might want to know. Still like to have the album someday.

I made a choice between a Doobie Brothers album and an album by America. I choose the DB album, got home and opened it and inside was the America album! I guess someone was trying to tell me something.
