Ever Heard of Chat GPT? Maybe You Should Educate Yourself....

Noam Chomsky has an opinion piece in the NY Times today that describes some of the faults with the present chat bots being rolled out. I agree with his sentiment that what we're seeing being discussed now are pretty much toys. Don't want to incur the link police here, and too lazy to find one of the link services.

NY times link wouldn't work unless the link clicker was a subscriber I reckon anyway. ChatGPt certainly a mixed bag right now but does some things well.
 
FYI, "AI" is heading into US federal governmental agencies to "do stuff" like score examinations, one such example being the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), that which is billed as the nation's (so-called) report card on student progress in mathematics and reading.

I will present lots more, including links to the U.S. Department of Education's formal "call" regarding a Challenge to bring Artifical Intelligence into the realm of scoring the annual NAEP examinations.

And, you can bet there will be slanted outcomes regarding the outcomes of these so-called AI-scored assessments of educational achievment and progress.

Artificial intelligence has been operating those agencies for years Nothing new, just being streamlined. Weaponized empathy with studied outcomes.
 
Wow, I wasn't expecting all of the membership number chatter, but hey....

What really concerns me, are things like the technology for self driving cars becoming self-governing police or military units. Everything is algorithmic driven and you are at the "Wizard of Oz's" programming mercy. We've already seen how the thought police in the media and our governments have banned people from the distribution of their beliefs, all justified through "misinformation". When the claim of "misinformation" is proven wrong, the revelation is just ignored or banned even further with no correction of error, all at the behest of the media ownership. THAT is what scares me, the dilution of truth in favor of ideology.
