Hi!
I may be into a whisker situation with some germanium trannies in an old console.
Since replacements are hard to find and a bit expensive when they turn up, I thought I would try to burn the whiskers using a charged capacitor and short the shield to the rest of the legs, according to some tutorials I have found online.
I´m just curious if you guys have any experiences with this method and if so how you have done. What type of cap used, which charging current etc.
And one specific question here: the DC power source I have available only goes up to 30v. Will this be enough for the job? If not: what is the best/simpliest/cheapest method to get higher DC voltage?
