External Processor Connection on C2200?

I'm in the process of upgrading my '70's vintage Crown gear with some vintage and newer McIntosh gear. I currently have a pair of MC75 amps driving some ESS Tempest speakers and an MC2000 driving some ESS AMT1b speakers. Don't ask me why but I like the sound better using both amps and speakers rather than just one amp and one set of speakers alone. I am currently using a Crown DL-2 preamp as the source for both amps. There are two outputs on the DL-2 so I've got one output feeding the MC75s and the second output feeding the MC2000. The DL-2 is set up so that I can run the input signal through an external processor prior to outputting it to both outputs. In my case, I'm sending the signal through a Crown EQ-2 equalizer. So, my input comes in from my CD player or tuner or turntable to the DL-2 goes through the EQ-2 and then comes back to the DL-2 where it is output to both outputs. I'd like to upgrade from my DL-2 to the C2200. I've looked at the C2200 manual and it looks like there are at least two outputs so I'll have the two outputs that I need to go to the MC75s and MC2000. I can't tell whether there is a way to go to an external processor to the EQ-2 from the C2200. Is there someone who knows the C2200 better than I do who could tell me whether this is possible? I really need the equalizer as my room acoustics leave something to be desired. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

There sure is a good way. First, the C2200 has 3 outputs - they can be balanced or RCA, too. I suspect your Crown gear uses RCAs, right? 2 of these outputs are switchable from the front panel. The 3rd is live all the time.

In addition, there is a processor loop - at least 1 that I can remember as my manual is packed away as is the C2200. Your DL-2 should have a Tape loop which would be similar. The processor loop can be switched in or out as you need. This should allow you plenty of options for configuring all your external devices. Its all there in the manual - just look at the back panel and you'll see them.

BTW, I run a set of MC75s off of one set of outputs from the C2200 which dirves my UREI 813s and a MC-225 which drives the Quad ESL63s. I've got it set up with PC-4 power controllers so that I can power up one amp/speaker set or the other or BOTH! A nice set up.

Thanks for your help. Sounds like you're doing exactly what I want to do. Now all I have to do is scrounge the funds for the C2200.
