Fair price for thorens td126?

Hi I've found a thorens td 126 for sale locally that looks in pretty good shape. I see prices for these are kind of all over the place. He says he can do 650. Is this a good deal? Comes with the original tone arm and dustcover looks in good shape. I don't really need another turntable but I love the style of the vintage thorens.

Hey says he thinks it's a mkii and says it was serviced by vinyl nirvana a year ago. It just has an ortofon om30 I believe which I'll probably replace. I got him down to 600 cash which seems like a good deal. I'm just hesitating because I have a vpi hw19 mki that I really like and I don't think the thorens td126 will really be much of an upgrade. Still it's hard to say no to a good deal and I do like the styling of the vintage thorens tables.

I was a Thorens TD 126 mklll owner for 25 years, bought it new in 1982 for $1200 and the first cartridge was a Yamaha MC 9,I think $ 400 would be a fair price.cheers

Thanks yeah I think it's a fair price. I'm probably going to go for it. I don't often see one at this price around me so it seems worth it.

Yeah I think you're probably right Ed. I might just pass. I always have that urge to buy more equipment but there's no real reason to buy another turntable when I only have room for one set up. Just seemed like a good deal but I really like my vpi.
