Fairchild 248 preamp

Anybody have some listening experience with this preamp? I'm listening to my Fisher 400CX-2 and Eico HF85 and love them but I occasionally see a Fairchild for sale and have never seen or heard one and it's always interested me. The Fairchild amps pop often.Just curious.

When I purchase and rebuilt my Fisher 400c I quit looking for any more preamps.I lso have a hhscott lc-21/dyna pas 2/3.Will the Fairchild best the fisher youd need a blind test to ascertain but they definetly look like a beautifull build vintage tube preamp and have a high reputation around here.Would I like to have one...absolutely..

I've been seriously considering building a clone of one, with a few modern tweaks, when I get some other projects finished.
