Fake vs Real: Introducing the Beatles (veejay)

So today i hit the thrift lp lottery for the third day in a row finding some good stuff i was even luckier when i had just walked in the store and the clerk comes over with a huge fresh box of lps for 99 cents that were just donated. My timing is so good.

I open the box and find right away 3 early beatles and other goodies from that period like duane eddy "twanging".

One of the beatles is the veejay release on introducing the beatles. Last year i got a copy at a garage sale but turned out it was fake after i did some research. So as soon as i saw it today i was curios to see if this was a real one or fake one. After looking it over im 95% sure i found a real one. See the photos the fake i found last year is on the left and todays hopefully real is on the right.

The one on the right has a clear photo, the rainbow on the label has green, the E on the back in the word Honey is not crooked, all indications of it being real.

Anyone else know of other factors to determine one way or the other?

I was told recently - just a couple of weeks ago, in fact - that one giveaway for fakes is the lack of George's shadow on the right; but I see it on both covers - perhaps that's not a reliable thing to count on?

Happy trails,
Larry B.

Well if it doesnt have a shadow then its fake for sure. If it does, that means it passed one real test.

My copy on the right seems to pass all tests that inhave found. And i matched it on that eskimo page to a specific release.

Looking at ebay listing sold and for sale i see many questionable fakes there. The dead wax is the easiest visble clue. Over an inch and its probably fake. There is one that sold for 3k and another being offered around that , that has a large dead wax which could mean its fake. I guess on ebay you can list whatever you want as real.

Probably as long as you don't present it as something it's not but a lot of people wouldn't know one way or the other.
I know that I've found 2 here in Australia which I believe are both bootlegs/Fakes

My other two beatles finds in the same box arent bad at all either. Look like early releases if not first.
