Fave Non-Traditional Holiday Movies

aka Blind Sugar McGee
what non-traditional holiday movies do we like?

1) gremlins. very timeless feeling to it, from the opening scene in Times Square / Chinatown (note the sailor in the blue uniform) to the guy driving the tractor (and the kid driving a beetle). cool, fun, different. Phoebe Cates is achingly beautiful.

2) Ernest Saves Christmas. Ernest is an acquired taste I guess; this is a good one. look for him as 'Lloyd P. Worrell' with a truckload of 'snakes'. 'Is this where the horror movie be? I got me a load of them Py-Sons'.

The Junky's Christmas
(Donkin & McDaneil, 1993)

* Claymation film adaptation of a short story penned by Bill (i.e., "William S.", per his publishers' preferences) Burroughs, circa 1989.
