Favorite Graphic Equalizer with Spectrum Analyzer?

I didn't want to start a new thread so I will resurrect this one. I haven't used a graphic eq in some time but I saw what looked like a good deal on a ADC SS-100sl on CL for $20 so I thought why not have some fun. I hooked it up through the tape monitor loop and it works fine. Here is my question. It has a
spectrum analyzer and when the volume is at a low sound pressure it works fine but if I turn it up to a decent, not loud, volume, the graph just max's out. Is that normal for this unit? I don't have a manual so I don't know if there is an adjustment for it or not. I went to HiFi engine to try and download the manual but for some reason the site will not accept my registration. I tried 2 emails and both failed to register me. So does anyone have any idea if that is normal or not? Thanks.

Suggestion:
Take a clear, close-up photo of the controls, and post it here. There`s a good chance someone here will figure it out !

My phone is not able to take pics at the moment but it really is just that the graph just stays at maximum unless the volume is fairly low. The only controls are the sliders, monitor button, tape button and the eq on or off button.

OK, I did some adjusting and it seems like it was operator error. The sliders are really sensitive and once I brought them down some it seems to work fine. OK everyone keep on moving, nothing to see here........:D

Well, I'm still a fan of EQs, but I'm not using any right now. I hook them up to my Yamaha A-S801 amp.

Anyway, I've loved the Kenwood GE-7030 since the early 90s and I have one in good working condition, with 2 so-so ones as spare parts.

Only wish there was a way to hook it up to my Yamaha A-S801 amplifier.

And fwiw nevermind the smiley face slider settings, they were only like that @ that time 'cuz the rig had just been put together when the pic was taken.
Trust me they are'nt that way anymore, not even close really.

Also more recently a Magnavox CDB-470 (TDA1541 / CDM2) CDP was added to the rack.

Technics SH-GS71....just for fun...from audio out on Yamaha receiver...shows just the analog sources...turntable, taped deck, and the RCA out from the cable box. I don’t have it in-line so its just a display.

I don't own one or have ever used one but If I did own a DBX 20/20 I'm positive it would be my favorite EQ of all time.

AudioSource model EQ ONE Series II is all I own now and it's not used very much anymore but it's definitely not a pretender

I used to have a Audio Control C101, it had the wooden sides. Good EQ until it died back in the 90s
You are brave showing that Phase Linear stuff. People here will throw rotten tomatoes at you. I had one years ago and would love to have it back!

Like many here I had an Audio Control C-101. Really nice piece of equipment. I used it to EQ cassettes for the car - very effective. Nice quality calibrated mic came with it.

I only sold it because even in pass thru it had an effect of throwing a blanket over my speakers.

Didn’t really need it as my equipment evolved.

Can't you hook it up through your tape monitor loop?
