New or old, what is you #1 favorite and why?

Mine would be Touched B-y An Angel

Why? Because I would like to believe there is hope in the World and that our lives mean something. There is good in all of us and I think many of us have things in our life that feel like they are lost forever. This show brings out emotions in me. I am not particularly religious but this show does it for me, makes me believe that a simple kindness can change someone's life

The Twilight Zone (The original with Rod Serling) I had many a sleepless night after watching that show. A few scared the crap out of me. My parents wouldn't let me watch it, so I'd sneak down to the family room and turn it on. Great writing, acting and one of the creepiest theme songs ever written.
 
Many good shows mentioned so far but I think The Andy Griffith Show has to be my favorite. That is until Don Knots left. They had the most unique cast of characters of any show.

The original Star Trek was on of my favorites too.

I was behind a deputy sheriff today who failed to give a signal when he turned. In the privacy of my vehicle, I'm spouting off "citizen's arrest!" "Citizen's arrest!" "Citizens arrest!"

I adored that show. To me it was one of the first quirky programs. Right up there with St Elsewhere.

My most recent fave was Last Man Standing but that’s gone too.
 

Loved the show back when I was a teenager (and beyond) In the mid-70's when the show started we had one TV in the house and that was one of my Dad's favorite shows too. The problem was, occasionally I'd get stoned and have to watch it with Dad in the room. Sometimes Dad couldn't understand why I was laughing so much..........

A 2nd vote for Barney Miller. What an ensemble of actors and characters. When Jack Soo (he played Nick Yemana) passed away it left huge void in the show. The retrospective episode they did of the actor and his character, at the end of Season 5, remains one of my favorites. Here's a short clip of his last scene on the show before his death.
 
Toss-up between the Beverly Hillbillies and The Munsters. Why? Perhaps because it takes on the perspective that normalcy is messed up in it's own way and there are creative solutions for dealing with "normal" while maintaining one's identity. Never thought about it that way before, so thanks!
Honorable mention to Batman, Get Smart, Peter Gunn and the Addams Family.
