Feedback and experience on Yamaha YP-701

Hi
I recently bought a Sansui AU-9900 but can't get a satisfying sound out of my turntable....i suspect something is wrong with my TT. I currently have a Gemini xl 500ii with a green Grado.

I have the possibility to buy a yamaha yp-701 for 200$. Brand new belt and new music hall cartridge. Any feedback on this TT?
I would like to stay south of 200$. Any recommendation? I can also get a Sansui sr-525 for only 40$ but it is notas clean as I would like. The yamaha is a good looking table.

I appreciate any feedback
Thanks

What problems are you having with the Gemini? Could be set up problems. I do not have experience with either of the tables you have listed, but set up is key.

Well I am not a pro at TT but the plate is not turning super flat horizontally. (Apologies for my english... I speak french...) it seems to have a little bump. The wires llook cheap as well so i suspeçt i should change them... Not sure what other adjustments need to be done... When i installed the grado, i made sure the arm was balanced and anti skating pretty much stable slightly moving to go back in place. As i said i am not an expert so not sure what else i can do.
I can also grab a lenco l85 for 160$...

If I were you I'd go for the Yamaha, I've seen the ad your talking about and it looks like a nice table. :tresbon:

Forget the Gemini from what I've seen on the web it's a waste of time. Just my humble opinion.

Thanks giant. I agree with the Gemini. It is not a table for audiophile...it is a DJ scratch table. Do you know anything about the lenco? Also an empire 698 but more expensive at 300$... No stylus... Could use my new grado however...

I know nothing of the other tables. The Yamaha YP-701 has an excellent reputation, just check the forum. Now I've seen the ad for the Yamaha and it seems to be really nice (no affiliation). Or you could order an Orbit, they do ship to us north of the border. :scratch2:
