Feedback for a JVC JT-T77 Turntable

Hello. Is $400 a decent to good price for 'perfect condition' and 'like new' 1972 JVC JT-T77 Hall Effect Direct Drive turntable and JL-C77 cabinet, including original box with packaging and paperwork. No tone arm included. I'm not familiar with JVC turntables. What do you all think?

That's beautiful and I bet it sounds stellar if fully functional. That said, I don't really have a clue as to value. A similar Technics SP-15 would be a bargain at that price, but that is all I can offer. JVC are (IMHO) the most under the radar table out there. Those coveted Denons from that era were largely designed by the same people.
 
From the research I've squeezed in today, your right. Seems JVC was a real pioneer for turntable devolpment and manufacturing back then especially with Victor at the wheel pressing the audio road with Mobile Fidelity which the other companies can drive directly on and in Hi-Fi gear. It also turned me into one of those quadraphonic guys who can't seem to let it go.
As the turntable value and feedback- that's still moot.
 
I don't know how much money $400 is to you. I couldn't afford it, but some guys drop that weekly when they go out on the town. If you are one of those guys I would definitely buy it. If it were local to me, I'd beg and grovel to try to get the seller to move some. The fact that there is so little info is one of those rare bits of info that can be used persuasively to argue price up or down. Whoever is more skillful in negotiation will use that to their advantage.

If that was local, I'd offer trades and whatever cash I could scrounge up after begging him to lower the price. That table is beautiful. 400 doesn't seem out of question at all for one. I've recently become a huge jvc fan boy and am on the lookout for a jvc turntable from that era at the moment.

Here is my QL-A7 (hope you don't mind the minor threadcrap, Chef). I bought it a few years back for $150 when the seller upgraded. A few months later he was asking me if I'd sell it back to him. I politely declined.

 
Good points from each of you. However I'm not rich yet and seems like every time I tell myself " no more speakers, or upgraded cables, or that receiver next to the awesome amp" something fascinating and worthy to switch back on the hunt and conquer mentality overrides sensibility and politely asks the inner audiophile to co-pilot and shoot down or build reasoning against the WAF or other obstructions. Focus. It's just $400.
Plus finding the $300 stylus. Plus cartridge. Wires.
And the $$ tone arm??
And the parts that get forgotten to get.

Which brings back the original question....is it worth it?
Absolutely.
 
This just popped into my mind- How does this JVC compare to Panasonics SP-10 or Technics SL-1000? Dare I say a SL-1200mk2? Price wise?
 
At $400.00 I'd probably buy the T77. While I've never owned one, I had a friend who had one (may still have it?) and it was a really solid unit. I'd maybe offer a little less, but I'd be ok paying full asking price if he/she is not willing to negotiate.

Nice QL-A7 markshan, those are really nice turntables.
