Fidelify app for Spotify

This program was mentioned on the TIDAL thread but I don't want to hi-jack that thread & am starting this one to pertain to Fidelify itself. Are you using it? What are your opinions? I downloaded it yesterday & am running it with the iFi version if ASIO (I have the iDSD Micro) but you can run it with other versions of ASIO or with WASAPI if that's your preference. To me it seemed to take a little "hash" out of the pure Spotify stream but my ears certainly aren't that golden. I A/B'd them but also want to make sure you're hearing 2 seperate versions as opposed to both Spotify & Fidelify playing the fidelified version while both programs are running.

Here's the link to the Fidelify program:

Your opinions, ideas, & tips on how to get the most out of this program are certainly welcome. Thanks

I've been using Fidelify for almost a week now. I like it very much....use it in WASAPI mode on a Windows 8.1 machine and while it is a little flaky, it is mostly stable.

I really only use it for my playlist that contains all types of music that I consider to be the best sounding recordings that I've found on Spotify. Being that WASAPI mode bypasses the windows mixer it does give audibly cleaner playback, otherwise I wouldn't bother with it.

As long as you're a Spotify Premium subscriber it is free so you've got nothing to lose. It seems that Fidelify has been in the BETA process since about 2012......so it doesn't seem that they're in much of a hurry in getting it to the final stage of usability.

Really hoping that they implement this into the main Spotify site.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried loading WASAPI to compare it to ASIO but got an error message that it couldn't be loaded. I think (but am not sure) that ASIO bypasses the Windows mixer too. I'll have to experiment a little more with WASAPI.

The Fidelify playback seems a little louder than the stock Spotify too. I'll have to back down the volume knob a bit while comparing just so I'm not biased towards the louder one.

Thanks again.

Yeah, for some reason I cannot use the ASIO option....only WASAPI or Direct Sound. Comparing Fidelify to Spotify at the same volume, the difference in sound quality was clear to me.

From what I've read WASAPI and ASIO are supposed to yield the same results as far as sound quality. Some had said that WASAPI was supposed to be better but never gave a definitive reason as to why.
